AfDB approves 235-mln-USD loan to foster employment in Morocco

RABAT, May 21 (Xinhua) -- The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a 200-million-euros (235 million U.S. dollars) loan to Morocco to foster employment opportunities for young people and women.

The financing will be used to strengthen the relevance, quality, and diversity of vocational training through services digitalization, rollout of learning systems, and stronger labor market integration mechanisms, AfDB bureau in Rabat said in a statement Thursday.

The financing will help support Morocco's CAP Competences 2030 program to revolutionize vocational training and boost youth and women's employment, the bank added.

Since 1970, the AfDB Group has invested more than 15 billion euros in multiple sectors of the Moroccan economy, according to official statistics.
