ALGIERS, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Algeria's USM Alger etched their names in the annals of Algerian football history by clinching their first-ever continental trophy, the CAF Confederation Cup, despite a narrow 1-0 defeat at home on Saturday night in the second leg of the final against Tanzanian Young Africans.

The team's 2-1 win in the first leg paved their way to the glory, taking advantage of their two away goals.

At a bustling 5th July Stadium in Algiers, USM Alger faced an early setback as the Young Africans' Djuma Shabani converted a penalty in the sixth minute.

Led by their experienced coach Abdelhak Benchikha, USM Alger showcased their unwavering spirit, as they managed to avoid conceding further goals, and ultimately securing their first-ever continental trophy in the club's history.
