SHARJAH, 10th January, 2023 (WAM) -- Mohamed Safi Al Mosteghanemi, Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy (ALA) in Sharjah, emphasised the importance of adopting sound Arabic in all media and the need to benefit from Arabic's richness, originality.

This came during the participation of ALA in a symposium titled "The Language of Media: Integrity of Structure and Relevance of Meaning," which was organised in Nouakchott by the High Authority for Audio-visual Communications,

Al Mosteghanemi expressed his appreciation for Mauritania's efforts to serve and safeguard the Arabic language and commended the country for selecting Nouakchott as the capital of Islamic culture in 2023.

Dr. AlHussein Amdo, President of the High Authority for Audio-Visual Communications, welcomed attendees and guests from Cairo, Sharjah, and Mali, and thanked the Arabic Tongue Council in Mauritania for their commendable efforts and cooperation to serve, protect, and develop the Arabic language's performance in the media.

Similarly, Professor Khalil Al Nahawi, Chairman of the Arabic Tongue Council in Mauritania, welcomed the participants and thanked H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his generous care and constant willingness to support Arabic language federations and academies in general, and the Arab Language Council in particular, as well as serving the Arab nation, language, and culture.

Professor Abdul Hamid Madkour, Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Linguistic Academies in Cairo, expressed his happiness at taking part in the symposium, which represents Mauritanians' devotion to Arabic and desire to serve its culture.
