ADEN, Yemen -- At least three soldiers of Yemen's joint pro-government forces were killed and 10 others injured in clashes with the Houthi fighters in the country's Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on Tuesday, a military official told Xinhua.

The Houthis launched an attack in an attempt to achieve a ground breakthrough into the government-controlled areas in the Hays District, sparking intense fighting in the area, the local military source said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Houthi Attack-Killing Soldiers)

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Tuesday appointed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the kingdom's prime minister, Saudi Press Agency reported, citing a royal decree.

RABAT -- The Algerian justice minister arrived in Morocco on Tuesday to officially invite the Moroccan king to the Arab Summit scheduled to be hosted by Algeria.

TEHRAN -- A high-ranking Iranian military commander said a homegrown over-the-horizon (OTH) radar with a range of 3,000 km will soon become operational in the country, semi-official Mehr news agency reported Tuesday.

Dubbed Sepehr (Sky), the radar is capable of monitoring all kinds of commercial, fighter and command and control military aircraft as well as airplanes fitted with radio relay stations and unmanned aerial vehicles, Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army's Air Defense Force Alireza Elhami was quoted as saying.
