AMMAN -- Twelve people were killed and 251 others injured on Monday in a chemical gas leak from a container at Jordan's Aqaba port, Jordan state TV reported.

Jordan opened a large field hospital in Aqaba to treat those injured in the toxic gas leakage as the Red Sea port city's hospitals have reached full capacity, according to the state-run Al Mamlaka TV. (Jordan-Gas Leak-Casualty)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanani said on Monday night that the Iranian negotiating team will depart for Qatari capital Doha on Tuesday for talks to revive the Iranian nuclear deal, according to the official IRNA news agency.

JERUSALEM -- Senior diplomats from Israel, the United States, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Morocco and Egypt agreed on Monday to deepen cooperation and hold annual foreign ministerial meetings, Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The meeting, hosted by Bahrain in Manama, was the first one of the Steering Committee of the Negev Forum, a summit attended by the same countries and held in Israel's Negev Desert in March. (Israel-US-Arab Nations)

JERUSALEM -- The Israeli Ministry of Health on Monday reported 20 new cases of monkeypox, bringing the total to 29 cases detected in the country so far.

The ministry's acting Spokeswoman Shira Solomon told Xinhua that one of the new infections is domestic, joining one previous infection that occurred within Israel, while the other 27 cases were infected abroad. (Israel-Monkeypox)
