The Honourable Melanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that the Honourable Robert Oliphant, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit Egypt and Morocco from May 8 to 12, 2022.

In Cairo, Egypt, Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant will meet with government officials, as well as local and regional partners, to discuss climate change, food security, regional peace and security and human rights.

In Marrakesh and Rabat, Morocco, Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant will engage with government officials on trade, climate change and peace and security, as well as commemorate 60 years of strong bilateral relations between Canada and Morocco. He will also attend a ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition against Daesh, where members will review the Coalition's progress and discuss the threat posed by Daesh in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, as well as in Africa.
