JERUSALEM, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli Basketball Association (IBBA) and the Moroccan Royal Basketball Federation (FRMBB) have agreed to sign a historic cooperation agreement, the IBBA said in a statement on Sunday, alongside a separate announcement by the Moroccan side.
This is the first time the IBBA has agreed on cooperation with an Arab country.
The two basketball governing bodies held remote online discussions, attended by senior officials, including FRMBB president Mustafa Aourach and IBBA chairman Amiram Halevi.
The agreement will include professional, social and educational ties, and is expected to be signed in Morocco in the coming months.
The signing event will also include a friendly game, according to the statement.
