RABAT, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The total number of people fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 in Morocco reached 21,068,973, representing more than 67 percent of the target population, the Moroccan Ministry of Health said on Monday.
So far, a total of 23,292,456 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Morocco, as well as 776,546 third booster shots, said the ministry in a statement.
The North African country launched a nationwide vaccination campaign on Jan. 28 after the arrival of the first shipment of China's Sinopharm vaccines.
Meanwhile, Morocco's tally of COVID-19 infections rose to 942,280 as 148 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, while the total recoveries increased by 352 to 921,980, the statement said.
The death toll from the coronavirus in Morocco rose by 17 to 14,561, it added.
