RABAT, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Morocco's COVID-19 tally rose to 569,668 on Friday as 1,910 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours.

The country's death toll rose by 19 to 9,536, while 559 people are in intensive care units, said a statement by the Ministry of Health.

The total number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Morocco increased by 2,104 to 540,474, the statement added.

Meanwhile, 11,699,533 people have received the first vaccine shots against COVID-19 in the country, and 9,787,143 have received two doses.

The North African country launched a nationwide vaccination campaign on Jan. 28 after the arrival of the first shipment of China's Sinopharm vaccines.
