GUANGZHOU, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The first Chinese-built luxury cruise ferry for Algeria set sail for the port of Algiers on July 15.
The roll-on-roll-off ferry was co-built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. for the Algerian state-owned company Entreprise Nationale de Transport Maritime de Voyageurs (ENTMV).
It can carry up to 1,800 passengers and 600 cars and travel at speeds of up to 24 knots.
The vessel, which incorporates elements of Algerian design, has 12 decks with various sections, including restaurants, open-air amusement areas, duty-free stores, and bars.
