LIMERICK, Ireland - In a move that is set to make the Limerick based firm the largest international standard film and TV studio in Ireland, Troy Studios has unveiled its expansion plans.
The company said that it is planning to open a 33,000 sq ft sound stage next year.
The new sound stage, which would become the company's fourth such sound stage, would mean that Troy Studios will be able to host over one production at a time.
In its announcement, the company said that the new studio has "the potential to provide employment for 150 people during the construction phase."
It further pointed out that once the sound stage opens, the company could "double the inward investment" it receives and also "double the number of jobs at the studio."
Joe Devine, Chairman of Troy Studios said in a statement, "Since its opening in 2017, Troy Studios has positioned itself as a world-class production hub for large-scale film and television productions. Troys new investment plan to increase studio capacity will be a further driver to grow Irelands 1.1 billion euros audio-visual industry, to create more employment and take best advantage of the global increase in the demand for content. Ultimately, it will enable multiple productions use Troy concurrently.
Further, CEO of Troy Studios, Siun Ni Raghallaigh said in the company's statement, "The global market for creative audio-visual content is projected to grow at a rate of 30% over the next five years. Ireland, with its Section 481 film tax credit and highly skilled workforce, has the potential to attract more international projects and we look forward to playing a real positive role in that growth and success."
