LEGAZPI CITY (PIA) - The Department of Energy (DOE) has teamed up with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) to conduct the "E-Power Mo" forum in Albay as part of its bid to inform consumers about using less energy and employing technology to save energy as they relate to the current administration's energy policy.
"The E-Power Mo multi-sectoral forum aims to empower individual consumers by giving them a sense of ownership and responsibility when it comes to their supply needs," said Bennie Recebido, the PIA regional officer-in-charge.
The forum will take place on Tuesday, August 7, 2018at the Casablanca Function Hall in this city. Expected to take part in the forum are around 100 small and large-scale energy consumers of various backgrounds.
"We are expecting our participants to serve as campaign partners in influencing other energy consumers to be more informed and involved in managing and handling their energy supplies," Recebido, also head of PIA office for Albay, said.

DOE representatives will present the energy situation in the country in general, and in Albay in particular. The data will include the status of existing and potential alternative energy sources in the province.
The role of DOE in the development of alternative energy along with energy saving tips and practices will also be discussed.
Representatives of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) will discuss the NGCP's role in the industry, as well as the projects it implemented in Luzon and their impact in Albay. For its part, the Albay Power and Energy Corp. will present the Magna Carta for residential electricity consumers with discussions on getting to know power bills and electricity consumption.
The DOE has teamed up with the PIA to expand the campaign, which also aims to consolidate public support to the DOE's goal of expanding energy supply options for energy consumers and to increase the number of energy consumers who will shift to different sources of energy. (PIA5)
